Home is Where You Park It has finally happened, and I am nothing but excited to share with y’all our adventure of what we refer to as “The Yellowstone”. We haven’t named it yet so for now that is what I will call it. I want to start by telling you all the story of how we got The Yellowstone.
The Journey Begins on a long, and I mean long, drive back from St. Simons Island. We spent the weekend there for our first anniversary, and on the way home we ended up on the subject of our bucket list. We decided to make a bucket list as a couple of things we would want to accomplish or do in life together, so we came up with some rules. 1) everything had to be practical, no wanting to go to the moon or crazy ideas like that. And 2) We had to both agree on it before it made the list. With that being said we began adding things. Dylan mentioned that he wanted to “Redo a Camper.” Mind you, I am not an outdoorsy person. I like to enjoy a pretty day on the beach or by the pool, however bugs, critters, and sweating are not my thing (or so I thought). I finally agreed that this could be fun, I did want to overcome my fears of camping, and at least this way I could do so in the air conditioning!
We began to actually talk about a plan for a small, and I mean small, camper that Dylan’s dad keeps at their hunting land. He told me he thought it would work perfectly for what we wanted, and I agreed to look at it before we asked Dylan’s dad if he were interested in selling it. I FELL IN LOVE! I walked into that somewhat smelly, dark, and did I mention hot camper and I instantly saw the potential that it had. So, we decided to ask. They say you ask and you shall receive, and man did we receive! Dylan’s dad agreed to let us have the camper in exchange for some manual labor and hard work at their hunting property.
We are now the proud owners of a 1964 Yellowstone Travel Trailer! We love this tiny camper and we cannot wait to share our adventure of renovating it from top to bottom! We plan to document everything that we are doing to make this tiny space a tiny home on wheels! We hope that you will follow along with us as we make our dreams come true! Check out the Gallery page for more pictures of the outside of our camper, and always remember home is not one place, Home is Where You Park It!
