We finally decided that it was time. We were going to stay in The Yellowstone for the first time together. I was so excited, kind of nervous, but excited! Like I said it is so cute and we talked non- stop about it to anyone who would listen to our plans. This was it! Our first night!
When we got to the hunting property, which I will refer to as deer camp from now on, we got out of the truck and began to set up. I was told to pack light, so my one duffle bag and I were ready to go. The race was on. We needed to begin to deconstruct the porch around the camper to even get it out! I was in charge of helping to take apart the water system. –Remember when I said I didn’t like critters, bugs, or anything of the like? —well, I forgot to mention that they love me! It never fails that no matter what I’m doing outside a critter will find me… and so it begins.
I am minding my own business, unscrewing water hoses from a pipe, and I see it. A Lizard. Lizards to me are like snakes, they sneak up on you and pounce out of nowhere. I of course freak out. Again, I don’t like bugs, critters or lizards obviously. Dylan takes my place so that it can get done and I am handing him the tools needed or carrying pieces to the pile of things to throw away. That’s when I see her…. Stella. (I named her after the fact) Stella is a giant rat; I’m not talking a small mouse; no, this thing is the size of a rabbit! Again, I freak out! I have now seen not one, but two critters that scare me to death within ten minutes of each other! In my head I am thinking “let’s just go home, who needs a cute little camper anyways”, but I promised myself when we decided to get the camper that I was going to step out of my comfort zone, and that I did!
I eventually made my way into the camper (after Dylan made sure there were no critters or bugs of course) and again, I fell in love. We brought several cleaning supplies with us, as well as a broom, so I began to clean! I wiped down everything! Walls, windows, cabinet doors, table, counters. Anything I could clean, I did.
We ended up grilling hamburgers and making yummy potatoes on the grill. After dinner, we crawled in bed to get a good night’s sleep!
The following morning, I was ready, I had decided that I was done being scared and I jumped right in! Dylan cut and disassembled, and I was right along side him! I had more fun than I could have ever imagined! We are so ready to head back down for a weekend to finish up, and get our camper home!
